2022 - New Tax for Southpark
Effective for the City of Charlotte’s 2022-2023 fiscal year, this additional property tax rate of 4 cents per $100 of value will apply to the 2022 property tax bills. Property tax bills are calculated on calendar year basis.

Mecklenburg County Hotels – 2023 Property Tax Expectations
Preliminary research by the CAO suggests that hotel values have not increased since the county’s last reappraisal in 2019. If that holds true and if the 2023 tax rates for the various jurisdictions in the county decrease as expected, hotel owners will see their 2023 property tax bills decrease compared to 2022.

Mecklenburg County – 2023 Revaluation
Mecklenburg County is reappraising all real estate in the county effective January 1, 2023. Notices of these values will be mailed in late January 2023. As of July 2022, the county assessor’s office has not released its preliminary valuation findings other than to indicate that tax values will generally increase and that the 2023 tax rate is likely to decrease.
